Island of the Baboon God

A Conan the Barbarian inspired tale of adventure.

Tyrannical magic has sent the world into turmoil. The new king searches for ancient artifacts to copy their powers. The Golden Hind defies him. Freyjrulf, aging mercenary, kingslayer, and infamous Stinger of the Scorpion Nine, should have no more reason to involve himself in this conflict with the death of the old king. But as a new mage, Leukos, joins the king's army, Freyjrulf knows his journey is far from over.

The lorekeepers speak of an island, long abandoned by humans. A place cursed by the gods, overtaken by jungle, and any human who dares step foot on it dies. But on that island, they believe, is one of those artifacts. And so does Leukos, sent by the tyrant-king to collect it. 

Freyjrulf fears no beast or god, yet he finds himself surprised by the island called Papiodyas. Nightmarish animals and monsters walk alongside the ruins, and the forgotten lives of the people draw out memories of his own. A giant crocodile follows him through the jungle. Leukos' forces slaughter anything in their paths. And deep within the jungle, a danger none are prepared for waits...
